Overview

The precise location of these three houses in Tejadillo street in the Havana of the latter part of the XIX and beginning of XX century was a key location for social and religious works of the time and was taken up by two religious orders: the Sacred Heart and Daughters of Maria (Auxiliadoras). In 1888 and 1945, respectively, religious schools were established. Behind the grand portals of the Hostal del Tejadillo an authentic colonial guest house can be found. Brightly colored and textured paintings demonstrate the eclecticism of Havana. Unique pieces of ceramics or copper statues, decorate the interior of the building. Nearby places of interest are: the Museum of Colonial Art, the National Museum of Music, the National Museum of Fine Arts, the Revolution Museum, the Cathedral of Havana, the Seminary of Saint Charles and Saint Ambrose, the Cathedral Plaza, the Bodeguita del Medio and El Patio restaurants.
