Hotel Florida ****

Overview

It is situated in the Historical Center of the city, and was the former mansion of a wealthy Catalan slaver, Joaquin Gómez. Built in 1836, it opened as a hotel in 1885. It resembles the General Captain Palace of Havana. Then it reopened its doors as a four star hotel in May, 1999, keeping the typical elements of the Cuban colonial archtecture: columns, archs, ironworks, indoor patio and the marble porch, one of the most beautiful in the city.
